Doing a good job of heat transfer printing requires not only good operating skills, but also the right tools, which are also very important factors. If the tools are not chosen properly, they will affect the final effect. Can ordinary ink be used for heat transfer printing?Let’s talk about it.

Heat transfer printing definitely cannot use ordinary ink for printing, but must use thermal transfer ink. Heat transfer ink is generally recommended to use imported ink from overseas, especially heat transfer ink imported from Korea and heat transfer ink of American brands. Domestic ink is usually inferior to imported ink in terms of practical effect due to its technical characteristics such as particle size.

Ordinary copier and heat transfer ink can print heat transfer, while ordinary ink cannot. The actual effect of the latter is not good. Even if the engraved image looks great, it will fade out and cannot stand water cleaning. Here are the steps:

 1. Remove the original ink first, including the ink in the printer cartridge of the copier.

 2. Fill the large ink tank with ink.

 3. Use a syringe to insert into the ink outlet of the ink tank and suck the ink into the printer cartridge of the copier. (Try to avoid air bubbles, as they will affect the printing effect.) 4. Put the printer cartridge back to the copier, clean the printhead and then print the test strip. If everything is normal, it can work.

However, it is recommended to replace the whole set of ink supply system.

Ordinary ink for printing doesn’t have the lifting characteristic, so it can’t be used to replace the heat transfer ink. It is also because of the characteristics of thermal transfer ink that the application of heat transfer printer is required to be piezoelectric printer, so as to prevent the lifting of ink during the whole printing process caused by heat polyurethane foaming printer.
